SHARK PARTY

Dun Dun… Dun… Dun… Someone is ONE! This is a throwback to a fun shark party I did for my son’s first birthday! He loved baby shark as do most kids but I wanted to tone the colors down and create more of a timeless party that we would still love even after the baby shark song stopped playing on repeat in our heads! Our family joined us for a BITE and we had the best little party and day!

My “baby” is now three and we still have a lot of the decorations from this party! His bedroom became “shark themed” and has since turned more towards a pirate theme but the great thing about purchasing a few great splurge pieces for a party is that you can reuse for years to come! Enjoy some throwback memories of our day long before I had launched this blog!

I bought the basics - a banner, balloons, plates, etc! But I made the “Beware of Shark” sign with scrap wood, I had had the fish netting from a previous craft so I just started ripping it into pieces for a backdrop and for along the table and I just ordered an ombre cake that I then decorated myself with an etsy topper and little shark bath toys I had already purchased for Graham.. This party is a good reminder that you don’t have to go overboard for a party to feel festive and fun! I focused on two areas - the entryway of our home and the kitchen table and it kept the focus there and let everything shine rather than camouflaging decorations all throughout the house. Happy first birthday to our shark!
