3 Easy DIY Christmas Treats

No-bake chocolate bark “elf bark”

We all need some quick Holiday desserts that we can keep in our pocket for a spur the moment gathering or gift and here are three that I pull out year after year!

ELF BARK: Pour melted shell chocolate (the kind you put on strawberries!) on parchment paper in a baking sheet and then add candy cane pieces, marshmallows and any other festive treat you can think of (pretzels and peanut butter are good too!) and pop in the fridge for 15 minutes!

Pull out of the fridge and break up and serve or put in a sealed container if you are not going to consume right away!

CHRISTMAS TREE BROWNIES: Make your brownies! I’m sorry but I have never had better brownies than a box of fudgey ones so that’s what I will continue doing! After the brownies have cooled and set, cut into triangle “trees.” sprinkle with powdered sugar, decorate with chocolate syrup and sprinkles or add pretzels as tree trunks! These look wonderful on a dessert plate at a happy hour or can be a great kid-friendly activity! Either way these shouldn’t take you longer than 20 min not counting the baking time so you will have your cute dessert ready quick!

HOT CHOCOLATE JARS: I love adding these into family gift baskets for all the kids we know and my son joined me in making them this year so that was extra special! Collect jars leading up to Christmas or buy a pack of small canning jars from the grocery store. Add in hot cocoa powder, a layer of crushed candy canes and a handful of mini marshmallows. Add a quick hand-written note and a festive ribbon and ta-da! An adorable little inexpensive diy hot cocoa treat!
