Super Sundae Bar

Why have a regular sundae bar when you can have a SUPER one?! We had family in town for my son’s birthday and so we hosted an ice cream sundae bar the night before his birthday party. I pulled out one of my Super Hero party kits that matched the bright colors and vibes of the ice cream vibes so well and from there I just built it up! I love that these kits can be the only thing you purchase for a party or they can be a starting point! I used the Super Hero kit as a starting point since we had a pretty large group in town! I bought a few extra bowls, cutlery and tablecloths that matched the kits colors and we were set!

For the ice cream bar….

I started with a cute red and white tablecloth and then placed different sized mini wooden stands across the table (here is something similar).

Next I filled mini mason jars with different yummy toppings including caramel and chocolate sauce and then just sporadically placed the jars on the stands.

I used a large glass candy jar as a centerpiece and also to hold ice cream cones in a super cute way.

Even though this was a sundae bar and not a formal sit down event I still like putting out at least a few place settings. I feel like it really pulls the attention into the details and highlights the cute decorations that you spent so much time admiring and picking out! I always set up at least four place settings even if it’s a buffet or something as casual as a drop-by. For this set up I made sure the super hero accessories were on display all the way down to the awesome masks!

My neighbors graciously gifted us some local gelato as a birthday gift to my son and so I placed the tubs on ice in a galvanized bucket (similar bucket) just minutes before it was time to dig in!

A sundae bar is something I will definitely be doing again in the future AND I have a perfect themed kit for the occasion all ready in the shop section or here. :)
